To mark its 56th anniversary, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) is launching the Great Indian Coastal Cyclothon, a 25-day journey spanning 6,553 km across India's coastlines. The event will begin on March 7, 2025, with two teams of CISF cyclists—one starting from Bakkhali on the eastern coast and the other from Lakhpat on the western coast—culminating at Kanyakumari.
The cyclothon aims to raise awareness about coastal security and engage local communities. 125 CISF cyclists, including 14 women, will ride through key coastal cities, spreading awareness about maritime threats like smuggling and illegal trade.
Civilians can participate by registering at www.cisfcyclothon.com, where details on routes, schedules, and city stops are available. The event encourages physical and virtual participation, allowing people across India to support the cause.
